Scrapbook In Somerset in 2014

So Christmas is done with, and 2013 is nearly over, what better way to welcome the new year whilst reminising on the best (or worse!) of the past. In 2014 I will be holding monthly scrapbooking classes in Wellington. Previous experience is not necessary, and the only thing you need to provide are photos as a kit is provided.

I am now taking bookings for January's class which is on Friday 17th January 19:30 - 21:30 pm and costs £7.

Love love love happy customers!!

Just a quick one today, but I was so pleased that one of the ladies in my WI craft group was sooooo pleased with the results from her smooch spritz she brought along her beautiful card to show me! She'd 'created it quickly' at lunch time...and a couple of quick sprays and if. Had gone from lovely to wow!! I'm so going to be adding lots of that to my Christmas album - which is what I was preping tonight! 

When unpacking all the Christmas boxes yesterday, I found last years album, and I was blown away by how much I'd forgoton in just one year! I am so glad I've documented the little things like what we wore, what we ate, what we received! If anyone wants a quick project for January....we have the perfect products for you!

Simply Created Chirsmas

What a busy Christmas this is turning out to be, I'm busy almost every night and that without doing all the preparations for a double birthday celebration let alone the most wonderful time of the year! So this year I'm relying heavily on our simply created kits. Simply created kits come with the basics to make a pack of cards - bundle in a stamp set (saving 15%) and add some ink and adhesive and your ready to create.

However, I do still like to be a little creative, so this year I've used a kit but ignored the instructions and come up with my own designs.

For this set I've used the Merry little Christmas Stamp Set and Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit Bundle in clear (Item 133287 £15.95) with Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad (Item 126949 £4.95). Then all I needed was some basic tools, adhesives and my trusty sponge Dauber and I created these 4 cards. 

Now, you may be thinking, but the kit doesn't have red dotty paper in it?!? well, that's the envelope liner! I cut a 95mm rectangle off each liner, which meant that there was enough left to give the illusion of a lined envelope and the rest can actually be used!

For this card, I stuck the stripey paper strip onto dotty paper, trimmed it to leave a border around and stuck it to the card. I stamped the sentiment as close to the bottom of the white tag as I could, and using another tag as a guide cut the opposite triangle out of the other end. I then cut two 1cm strips of the remaining red dotty paper, and covered the back with anywhere glue stick started folding them. I then stuck these two to the front of the card, added a stampin dimensional to the top and bottom of the tag and its all done.

For this card I used the whole 95mm width of the rectangle i'd cut from the liner, attaching it to the card front and trimming the excess. I then placed my tag on top of the stripey paper strip and cut around it. The next bit was the most difficult bit, I stamped the sentiment as far right and as close to the top of the tag as I could, then cut this out, highlighting the edges with my dauber. I then placed my white tag, strategically under the stripey tag to cover the gap, added a Stampin' dimensional to the sentiment before sticking to the stripey tag. Then threaded a button with the bakers twine and stuck that to the front using multipurpose liquid glue.

This card used all three stamps that come in the set, I first stamped the sentiment, then the long border above and below, before finally finishing with the little flourish. I then stuck the white tag to the red and white dotty paper before cutting it out, leaving a small border. I used my dauber to ink the edges of the stripey paper and then attached the double tag using some Stampin' dimensionals.

For this card, I trimmed the stripey piece of paper to 95mm too, then trimming the red dotty paper to 113mm tall. I stamped the sentiment onto the white tag, before attaching the bakers twine and button to the top. I then added a couple of Stampin' dimensionals to the back of the tag and added it to the card.

And there we have it, four simply created cards from one kit, remember, you can order the kit alone (item 132158 £8.95) and make multiple matching cards. Each kit comes with the materials required for 8 cards, so I still have 4 more to play with, not to mention the buttons and bakers twine that I haven't used yet ;)

In addition to the Bundle and Ink pad I also used, Stampin Trimmer (129722 £25.95), Sponge Daubers (102892 £9.95)  and a variety of different adhesives (probably because they were all in-front of me and I didn't want anyone to feel unloved at this time of year!!)

Anywhere Glue Stick (104045 £3.25).

A little stocking filler this Christmas....

As I'm getting in the Christmas spirit, and thinking about what I can make for Christmas, a Pinterest post gave me this idea. 

I used a 2.5" by 8" piece of crumb cake card (folded in half), the 'a gift for you' stamp from the Christmas single stamp range with crumb cake ink, the envelope punch board at 1/4" (flipping vertical and horizontal) cutting the excess away. 

Then just added 20" of ribbon and 3 matching buttons :)
